Draftsman

The Inspiration

As long as I can remember I always have enjoyed building things. I have always found great satisfaction in creating something new from start to finish.

The Education

My junior year of high school I went to vocational school for AutoCAD drafting and design at Metropolitan Votech in Little Rock. My teacher recommended me to an Architect who was looking for a Draftsman and I started working at 17. Fortunately, they were happy to train me on the job. While working I also enrolled in the Construction Management program at UALR but I only enrolled in the classes that were best suited to furthering my education a la carte.

The Work

I have always been a DIYer, always confident that I can figure it out. I have been fortunate that my employers have encouraged and facilitated my training and personal growth. I began my career in Architecture as an AutoCAD draftsman. It was a small firm and they encouraged me and trained me in all aspects of the job, from schematic design to construction administration. As my experience and knowledge increased, I was given the opportunity to start managing my own projects. I continue to strive to learn from each project and each person that I work with, and I truly enjoy what I do!
